The Beyond Inclusion Team

The Beyond Inclusion project brings together a transnational consortium from 5 EU countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain and Cyprus), involving 8 expert organizations with complementary experience and expertise.

Under the circumstances of the pandemic, the partners are conducting videoconferences regularly, discussing the issues and the upcoming activities of the Beyond Inclusion project.

Association Business Information and Consulting Centre – Sandanski (BICC) is a nongovernmental organisation with more than 23 years of experience in the business and social development, training and mentoring in entrepreneurship, financial consulting and B2B services. Our main operation area covers the region of Southwest Bulgaria, an area with growing economic and social development.  In 2008, BICC became a part of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) – a European network that involves more than 600 organizations and 4000 skilled professionals from 40 countries.

BICC provides local companies with business development support, consulting services and international contact. At the same time, the organisation aims to foster cooperation with foreign partners and attract foreign investors in the region. AEK is the most historic sport club in Greece, a great idea. A symbol of memory with a big tradition of representing athletic activities in Greece and Europe. It all started in 1924. Two years after the Minor-Asia destruction a group consisted of Constantinopolitans living in Athens, decided to establish a club whose purpose would be to remind all of us the lost homelands and a civilization that existed for thousand years, so we never forget. AEK is a multi – sport club having more than thirty (30) sports under the umbrella of the amateur Sports Club, with many distinctions of many athletes and teams internationally (such as fencing, boxing, weight lifting, kickboxing, athletics, etc.), however the most popular and highly distinguished all over Europe and worldwide are the sports of football, basketball and handball.

One of the best clubs in the country, always loyal and faithful to its principles and values. Maintaining academy sections of most Olympic Sports giving equal chances to young people , so they can choose what is best and more suitable for them. The Club’s mission is to create and advance equally all sports. The Club’s vision is to achieve the previous using its own children. What is more, AEK had been always particularly sensitive in social issues.

Driven by its history and responsibility towards millions of fans has designed a versatile action plan in order to provide for the vulnerable social groups.

Non-Profit Civil Partnership “Me Alla Matia”, meaning “with other eyes” in Greek, was founded in June 2018, by the blind lawyer Vaggelis Avgoulas and a group of disabled young people who self-organized with the ultimate goal of claiming inclusion and accessibility through social action.

It was implemented as an afterthought of the unique, fully accessible, news portal meallamatia.gr which started as a blog in 2011 and continues to be an excellent way of promoting the disabled, so that they become more and more visible by society.

Me Alla Matia’s vision is the elimination of the under-representation of disabled people and the dimension of disability in public discourse and in Civil Society. The organization’s main purposes are:

  • Providing information, accessibility, social care and support services to socially vulnerable groups and their families
  • Defending their rights and needs
  • Familiarization of the society with the daily life of the disabled

Romanian Association of Applied Psychopedagogy (ARPA) is a non-profit organization, consisting of experts in the field of psychology and educational sciences, with the aim of supporting people with special needs and their families, teachers and other specialists (vocational counsellors, occupational therapists, psychotherapists) in order to reach the optimal potential of their personal and professional development.

ARPA aims is to improve the situation of people with special needs who have social, educational disadvantages and disabilities (physical, sensory, intellectual) in all areas of social, cultural and educational life.

ARPA works and supports the integration of disadvantaged people and people with disabilities into social, educational, assistive and physical environment by improving communication skills and social skills, sharing experiences.

ARPA members and volunteers are cultivating the values of democracy, developing civic attitudes and behaviors, non-discriminatory towards people with special needs, by initiating and evaluating policies: promoting respect, equal opportunities, positive approach.

Main aims of ARPA are:

  • Development of the local community through volunteer projects;
  • Personal development of the beneficiaries of the association – people with special needs (people with autism, people with intellectual disabilities, people with learning disorders, physical disabilities and sensory disabilities);
  • Professional development of specialists working with children with special needs: educators, teachers, school psychologists, educational counsellors, speech therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists;
  • Promoting the social integration and inclusion of people with special needs;
  • Promoting non-discrimination and equal opportunities for people with special needs;
  • Providing assistance to reach non-formal education and non-directive therapeutic methods for children that are most in need of support;
  • National and international cooperation.
